Meaningful Support & Personalised Care

Midlife and the changes it brings can mean many women feel really vulnerable at this time. The changes experienced during Perimenopause and Menopause often act as a catalyst for other health changes but this life phase can also be a time when you struggle with changes to your weight, body shape, energy, motivation and self-esteem.  Prioritising your own health and wellbeing can feel near impossible - especially as you tend to the needs of others around you (ie, children, aging parents, job expectations, etc).  Even though it may feel difficult, now is an ideal time to reach out for support.

By providing genuine care, where mutual respect, and positive regard are the guiding principals, my goal is creating a safe space for you to talk, put yourself first, to share your concerns, explore your needs, to feel heard, to identify your goals and work towards building a foundation of habits & behaviours that supports these.

I acknowledge that no body is the same, that each individuals experience will be different and that any woman will be influenced by their unique life, set of values and life desires.

If you are looking to feel cared for, understood and motivated to make changes to honour you, as you navigate midlife, you're in the right place!

Why is it important to understand the changes of midlife?

The reproductive hormones we make during our menstruating years are not just involved in fertility.  They also perform many other important functions for bone, heart, metabolic & brain health, and affect our immune system, nervous system and more.  Understanding how these changes may impact you, and what you can do about it, can be really reassuring and empowering in a time of uncertainty.

It is important to know what changes are happening to the way your body functions so your choices and habits can be adjusted to better support this (just as you might have made changes when you wanted to conceive).  The symptoms of perimenopause can begin an early as 10 years before your offical "menopause".   But wherever you currently are in midlife, it's always a good idea to reflect and reset to ensure you're supporting your health in the most appropriate way for where you are right now (its never "too late").

Lifestyle changes are actually the first-line approach to menopause management!  Whilst they may require more effort than a supplement or pill, these are proven levers you can pull to support your health & quality of life right now!

The focus is sharing with you these science based interventions based in Nutrition, Exercise, Stress Management, Sleep Support, Mental Wellbeing and more.  But of course it's also important to know what other treatments work, including prescription therapies, natural therapies, psychotherapy and more, so you can consider all the options and choose what feels right for you! So I can offer guidance there as well.

Changing Your Health Behaviours To Match Your New Hormone Profile

This is actually the hard part!

Right now, your world, your life and your choices are perfectly organised to create the results you're currently experiencing!  If you don't change, it all remains the same!  So if you're tired, not sleeping, stressed, putting on weight, feeling low, these will continue if you keep doing those same things.  This could be your chance to make different choices and experience better results!

Its hard to make changes to habits and behaviours though, especially if someone else tells you "this is what you should do".  (Thats why most diets or exercise plans fail!).

To make meaningful change any plan needs to account for the reality of your life, who you are, what you care about, what fits for you.  Most people won't change because someone told them to, they change because they decided it was the right thing for them to do.

It's easier to make change with a little support & accountability, a co-driver to help you navigate your way, fill knowledge gaps, uncover motivation, and to help trouble shoot when hurdles come up (and they will!), and help you make those decisions around what changes are right for you. It also feels good to have someone on your side, someone to lean on and give you a nudge when needed!

Together we can co-create a plan for your foundation of health behaviours, complimented with therapies to address your symptoms & health concerns, then work together to make these behaviour changes happen.

About Me

Sometimes it can be nice to know a little about who the person is that you're sharing your story with.  So heres a little about me...

I grew up on a lifestyle block in a small rural south waikato township.  I am married with three children.  In my spare time I enjoy running, walks, hanging at the beach, reading, gardening and spending time with family & friends.  I have spent many years living between NZ and Japan, my youngest was actually born there.  I love chocolate, coffee and matcha lattes, falafel and guacamole.

Academically, I initially graduated with a Bachelor of Leisure Studies (I know, crazy name - and now much more appropriately called Sport, Health & Human Performance) from Waikato Uni, as well as a Diploma in Marketing.

Later on, I decided to delve a little more into health & nutrition, and completed an "Advanced Certificate in Nutrition and Health Coaching" from Well College Global (Australia based), adding to this the "Holistic & Performance Nutrition Coach (Health Coach Specialisation)" qualification from The Holistic Performance Institute, as well as their "Nutrition for Womens Health" certificate.

With an interest in Womens Health through peri menopause to post menopause. I also completed Dr Stacy Sims "Menopause 2.0" course and to compliment this, I completed the Jean Hailes Health Professionals "Managing Menopause" course designed for GP's, Nurses & Health Providers.

My skill set is unique but well matched to my passion for helping women feel great!
